XHTML Coding

The Extensible HyperText Markup Language or XHTML is the latest language used by web developers. It is similar to HTML but in XHTML, there are strict rules that every web developer should follow.

Compared to HTML, XHTML produces a format that is easier to edit and manage with the use of XML tools. With the combined benefits of using HTML and XML, XHTML documents are compatible to more browsers.

Here are some basic XHTML coding rules:

  • All tags and attributes should be lowercase.
  • Close all tags or elements.
  • Attribute values should be enclosed in quotes.
  • No attribute should be minimized.
  • Open and close tags correctly.
