Keep these simple tips in mind when advertising on e-newsletters:




 

  • Know your target market. As with any other online marketing strategy, knowing your target audience is crucial as this will determine if your e-newsletter is appropriate. Make sure you are getting your money's worth by reaching the right audience.

  • Identify your objectives, and then work around them. Make you ad appealing by focusing on what you offer. Do you want people to buy your product or avail a service? Include an image of the product or have a short and interesting description of the service you provide. Keep it simple and straight to the point.

  • Be consistent. Keep in mind that this is not a "one-time only" marketing technique. Frequency counts. Once you start advertising in an e-newsletter, make sure to do it on a regular basis. This will increase brand awareness and allow you to determine if this is an effective marketing method for your business or not.

  • When readers click on your ad, make sure it points not on your homepage but on a landing page that provides readers more information about your ad.

  • Know the numbers. Track the ad performance and check if it generates leads. Otherwise, try a different method. Keep on experimenting to know what works best for your business.

  • If you are not the only advertiser in the e-newsletter (which is probably the case), ask if you can write a story or sponsor a section for more exposure and brand recall.
