Favicon
If a visitor puts a site in the Bookmarks menu, there is usually an icon or a small image on the left side of the name of the website. It can also be seen next to your site's URL at the address bar. This icon is called favorites icon or simply favicon.
In a long list of bookmarked sites, having a favicon will help visitors locate a particular site.
The favicon should be in .ico file, 16 x 16 pixels. You can create your own favicon using Photoshop or any other graphics package, or download one from a wide array of free favicons online. Upload the file in the root directory of the site.
